It is indeed very disturbing to learn of so many things going wrong amongst our Political Leadership. From failed $4m computer projects, to MNC, to Sogavare and former MEF's meetings and many other sickening media coverage like MP's in jail.
This forum has pointed out some very constructive points on all the issues. I have read some very wise suggestions and brilliant views but one question in mind is "Is anyone really listerning to our discussions?"
This forum and other similar forums are the brains of the Solomons and we have so much to offer to assist the so called Leaders of our nation. I am just wondering if some kind of Association can be formed and endorsed by govt to represent the views of you all Brainy Solomon Islanders.
What's your view. |

your suggestion for the establishment of the above mentioned subject is not bad at all. It would be really nice to have a National Think Tank Association whereby all Solomon Island Professionals including farmers, fishermen, youths, academics and many others congregate and share their views and propose suggestions for improvements to any govt of the day.
On a personal note, I for one uses this forum as a means of expressing my views and frustrations on issues of interest to me. I also browse this site with an intention of learning and galvanizing my knowledge from contributions made by others.
My hope now is for our political leaders and govt administrators to spare some of their valuable time to browse thru this very imformative site.
Others may have different intentions but overall this forum has expressed some very valuable and constructive views/criticisms be fitting for our good MPs to consider. |

tkorax,
I know our MPs sometimes browse through some of our discussions. I personally asked our PM and J Koli and they said they have read some of the threads. Don't you worry there are people silently listening and reading the forum.
Your idea for an association of some sort would be a good one. Can you take the lead to establish it.

Thank you SV and Kesu,
Apparently, there does not seem to be that many support for the view, otherwise i would be happy to take the lead on it.
I personally would like to see my wantok Tara to head this kind of grouping as he commands alot of respect for his expert advice. But i also remember that when Tutuvatu first started, there were plans to summarise the contents and be submitted to our leaders...Not quite sure if this had been done knowing that Tara is probably heavily committed.
Nevertheless, if our leaders visit this forum, then it is a good start but probably not good enough. We need more of them to hear and TAKE some ACTION on some points.
