A news item from SIBC
The Solomon Islands National Council of Women says the killing of Jennifer Wangi in the Makira/Ulawa Province recently is another act of domestic violence and gender based violence.
General Secretary of NCW Ella Kauhue says, year after year, women have become targets as victims of domestic violence, usually perpetrated by husbands or someone they knew.
She says more needs to be done to protect women and girls.
She says the effort to reduce violence against women and girls is a business for every citizen of this nation.
It was reported earlier this week that the body of the late Jennifer was found with multiple wounds after a search was carried out by relatives.
The relatives say the woman went with her husband to their garden and both of them never returned.
It is believed search is continuing for the husband.

Anna,
Is it domestic violence or just pure murder? _________________ One's Life is a journey in a world where one's destiny is influenced by one's surroundings |
